Inspection
Vessel inspections are the primary method of prevention against aquatic invasive species. Our goal is to stop the contamination of Quagga and/or Zebra mussels from devastating our freshwater lakes and reservoirs. This involves a thorough and comprehensive examination of a vessel to make sure that it is Clean, Drained, and Dry.
DECONTAMINATION
Decontamination of a boat or vessel is the primary method of containment for aquatic invasive species. Without proper decontamination, a boat could accidentally spread this disease to other bodies of water. This involves killing any quagga or zebra mussels using a hot water wash over 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Contact your local fresh water lake or reservoir to see if they offer decontamination services near you.

Quagga Inspection Serivces is the sole provider of access to the Quagga Inspection Database (QID), our method of tracking inspections and failures throughout our network of lakes and reservoirs.
